Graduation

Man time flies, I can’t believe I’m graduating shortly but I still feel like I didn’t share enough so I’m gonna talk about my favorite film of all time (for now) Shin Ultraman. Ultraman has been a big part of growing up for me and for most kids who lived in the south East Asian country’s. Ultraman is a special affects show about a giant who fought against monsters to keep the peace of earth while being an alien itself. Believe it or not Ultraman has inspired many pop culture, to names a few the likes of power rangers only exist because of Ultraman, the alien waybig from Ben 10 is inspired by Ultraman, and Pokémon, yes the video game, is inspired by Ultraman. The whole deal of sending Pokemon to battle is based on the capsule monster from ultraseven (the second entry of the ultra series). There’s many more that I couldn’t share here but basically Ultraman is quite the big deal, especially in Asia Ultraman is like the Superman for us. And so as part of the Shin Japan Heroes movement, a line of films that reimagined influencial Japan superheroes, Ultraman was reimagined to fit the current reality of 2022, and thus Shin Ultraman was born. The film was successful but doesn’t bring as much as it’s predecessor (Shin Godzilla and Shin Evangelion) but it did put Ultraman in the western eyes even though it only for a short while. I won’t spoiler much about the film because I believe watching it without any knowledge would result the best experience. But I do want to share some clips from it here so enjoy this contextless snippet of the film.
