The Rockpile

Today we finished reading the short story and I enjoyed it pretty much, even with it cliff hanger ending you still could predict what most likely going to happen from reading the story and context clue. Overall a thought racket 👌

Sketching my Thoughts

Here’s my sketches I did for today. I really enjoy it

Mother to Son

Today we get to read a poem called Mother to Son. It’s a interesting read with great analogies, personally this have to be my favorite poem so far, it talk about a mother who’s giving her son advice on how to march through life even with its overwhelming difficulties.

Refugees In America (something like that)

We read it today and talk about the meaning behind it. It’s one of the shorter poem and ngl I don’t get much of it

I too (late)

I forgot to one so here’s for the poem “I Too” we basically read it, talk about it, and answers questions

Answering Questions from yesterday poem

Today we just work on some questions about The Negro Speaks of Rivers. Some of those questions require me to flip my head over, like questions 7 and 1 got me thinking for a bit.

The Negro Speaks of Rivers

Today we got to read the poem written by Langston Hughes, The Negro Speaks of Rivers, The poem is filled with simile and personification so it’s a fun read. It tells the long history of the black race, not just the African American but the entirety of the black race, and how it reflects on the rivers.

African American Culture

Today we started our lesson with the culture of African American in the US. We talk about their core value, importance in the culture, population density, and stereotypes. Overall it’s a very interesting topic and I need to hold my laughter because while talking about stereotypes the funny vines/tiktok videos about such stereotypes pop up in my head.
